Dear SITE Mountain West Friends and Supporters,

 

We have much to be proud of our active and growing chapter. Our chapter continues to thrive, driven by the dedication and passion of our members to elevate the incentive travel and motivational events industry.

​

We had a very active 2023 and accomplished:

• Held 15 live events spread across our four-state region, and 3 virtual events

• Membership Committee was hard at work following up on all the events to encourage non-members to join our chapter. They helped facilitate the Member-Get-A-Member campaign to recruit new members during IMEX Frankfurt and Las Vegas. We grew our membership by over 60% year over year.

• We sponsored new members to be a part of our Young Leaders committee helping that to take off. This year they are very active and have already held two virtual events, Coffee & Conversation, and are actively presenting the value of SITE at universities in our four states! There is a lot more planned with this exiting group of young professionals!

• We were awarded the Chapter Excellence award of Rising Start. A testament to the impact we have made as a new chapter.

• I was honored to be awarded SITE's Member of the Year. A very prestigious distinction. So proud!

None of our successes would be possible without all our extremely dedicated Board members and all our Committee Members.

 

In 2024, we are rolling out another year with ambitious plans to continue to provide more value to our members. We will continue our work to provide relative and engaging events and our plans include holding up to four events in each of our four states, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah…16 events as a goal! We have already held 5 live events and 3 virtual events. 

 

This year we are adding our new signature event that will be hosted in Vail, Colorado August 18-20, 2024. For more information on SITE Mountain West Summit: Discover Vail, please click here. We hope to see you at many of our events for the balance of 2024!

 

This year we have started our Sustainability Committee. Recognizing the importance of sustainability and corporate social responsibility in today's world, our chapter has plans to encourage our members to embrace eco-friendly initiatives. We will also ensure our chapter incorporates sustainability practices throughout our activities. We strive to make a positive impact on both the environment and our community at large.

Our committees continue to grow and engage more members. Currently about 26% of our membership are active on a committee. During our AGM, we recognized two members this year for their impact on our chapter. Holly Smith with MGM Resorts is our Chapter Member of the Year and Lisa Wilson with William Blair is our Young Leader Member of the Year. Congratulations again to these outstanding leaders!

If you’re not currently volunteering, please get involved! I encourage you to volunteer your time to our Chapter by joining one of the committees (Membership, Marketing/ Communications, Events, Sponsorship, Finance, Sustainability, and Young Leaders).

​

Being an engaged member is invaluable to your career and for building enriching and meaningful global relationships. After many years of being an active member, I am still inspired to volunteer my time to work collaboratively with our Board on initiatives that help our chapter, members and the greater SITE community.  If you would like to get involved, please reach out to me or any of our board members directly.
